About this book
Daughters of Revelation is a historical study of six women of the Prophet's household: Fatima al-Zahra, Zaynab bint Ali, Umm Kulthum bint Ali, Sukayna bint al-Husayn, Fatima Masuma and Narjis, mother of the Twelfth Imam. Dr. Saiyed Ali Al-Razavi follows them across some two and a half centuries, from the death of the Prophet to the beginning of the Occultation.
Its six parts look at Fatima's claim to Fadak and her sermon, Zaynab's witness at Karbala and her testimony in Kufa and Damascus, the disputed record and marriage question surrounding Umm Kulthum, the 'two Sukaynas' of history and devotion, how Fatima Masuma's grave grew into the shrine city of Qom, and the competing accounts of Narjis's origins. Throughout, the author weighs Shia and Sunni sources and is open about what can be established and what rests on later memory.
Appendices add a chronology, genealogy, source guide and notes on shrines and ziyarat. Suited to general readers and study circles; part of the author's Living Shia Tradition series, 2026.
